(It might be that this Argentian breeder has some super HR bloodlines--or maybe it's this particular horse?)" I had a horse, RCF Kelal, that would canter 90 bpm, had a resting HR of 32, and recovered phenomenally. He was Al Khamsa/Egyptian/Pyramid bred with some Davenport (Kuhlayan Haifi) strains (I believe). He also moved like a gazelle, completely effortless and breathtaking. He was small, muscular and compact (14.2 but lightly built). Haven't seen another horse move like this, tho I imagine he had a lot in common with Kasal. He is an awesome horse. Also had a Russian/Polish mare that had a resting HR of 24/26--though she was just getting experience on the trails and HR would spike with new things, though her outward appearance belied this completely. Originally planned to breed her hopefully passing down the large heart. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
