==========================================

  This may be useful info:Most,not all, FT horses run shod front/barefoot
back,all over the country.I made the transition to barefoot rears last spring
on 17 year old Chico.Didn't think it was going to work out,but gave it a
try.His back feet are now terrific.The frogs are now almost twice as big,the
side walls are entirely free of chips and cracks,and the heels are good.THIS
DID NOT HAPPEN OVERNITE. It took about four or five months.He lives in rocky
woods.He was a little fussy on stones at first,but now seems pretty much
impervious.Could I do this for field trialing anywhere in the U.S? Maybe,maybe
not. Most TWH/MFT's,for whom the stepping pace is by far the most common gait,
will gait better and travel easier with the faster breakover at the rear
provided by a bare foot. Now,if Chico can go barefoot at the FRONT,I will save
$$$$$$ per year!
