[RC] "BAREFOOT BIAS" - Ridecamp GuestPlease Reply to: JUNE JORDAN JUNEJ@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx or ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ========================================== Shari, As you can see by the response to your post "Barefoot Bias", going barefoot is not, for the most part, a popular concept among endurance riders. A few of these people that post on ridecamp can really go into "attack mode". I do not believe every horse can go barefood and there is certainly a long transition period between being shod and going barefoot. My horse has been barefoot for just over a year now. We would be considered "pleasure riders" as he has only attempted and completed (1) 50 miler barefoot. I'll keep him barefoot as long as it is working ok for him. There are a few of you out there competing successfully on barefoot horses. My hat's off to all of you and I wish you continued success! Time will tell if going barefoot is a viable option for endurance horses. (already seems so for some of you) If it is you will see more people jump on the bandwagon. Somebody's got to test the waters. Would have like to have read your article. Hopefully will see it in print elsewhere.
