Hopefully this doesn't get posted twice.
If his back fetlocks are dropping down more, he must have long pasterns (?) I rode a horse that had longer than average pasterns on her hind legs and so her fetlocks dropped down more as she moved. I am not sure if this is what you mean. I was told that this could cause problems in the long run. She had beautiful movement and was very smooth to ride because the longer pastern absorbed more impact, but the longer pastern is also subject to more stress. On rides of several hours where the ground was hard she would sometimes develop small windpuffs on the back legs.
Of course, there are probably people who have ridden hundreds of miles on such a horse with no problem, so it can be very individual too. I guess it would depend on what your goals are for this horse. But if that is the only "problem" with the horse and the rest of his conformation is good, I wouldn't consider it a major deal. Unless there is another issue here and its not just long(er) pasterns.
I'm still new at the sport, so maybe someone else has an opinion...where are all those experienced riders and breeders...leave the WEC/UAE topic for a minute :)
