Subject: posters beware!

Dian Woodard said,
"Ricecamp readers you have no right to attack a person just based on their AERC record..."

Oh Dian, where have you been? Of course they have that right. They did it to Howard and plenty others. Some maybe deserved a little of it but most don't. There was even a lady who tried to share her shipping experience because sadly she lost her horse and didn't want someone else going through the same thing, and Ridecampers damn near called her a murderer!

Come on, that is what ridecamp is all about. If you think you know what you are  talking about, someone will look up your record and tell you otherwise. Or, they will just argue with you until it gets boring. That can take a long damn time. Especially if there are numbers and men involved. ;) TRUE?man

You and Debi are addressing mostly distance riders AND racers who don't necessarily agree with horses being campaigned to race one time, and then sold to the highest bidder overseas.

We all like to see the better riders do well, but that doesn't mean they ride better than the rest of us. Just faster and they can do so without worrying about the horses future because the horse will be out of their hands. If you read ridecamp regularly, you must know that most of the posters are about riding and KEEPING their horses. They like to race and get prizes, but not money.

You are right, international and home riding are two different things. But don't preach to this choir about international racing and conditioning a horse for one race, because you are addressing the home riders/racers.

As has been pointed out, riding twelve hours is not abusive. More horses than not, ride that long and longer, do so for many rides/races and continue on into their Sr. years.

So welcome to ridecamp. Be tough or be drinking. That is about the only two ways to keep yourself from picking up your computer and smashing it against the floor while reading certain posts. (don't throw your back out Debi (:-O no!) Or, you can collect pictures of people from EN and put them on the wall and when they write something that really rubs you the wrong way, throw something at them. Something soft, cause it ain't worth tearing up your walls for. Drywall being so expensive and all. ;)

I had a great ride today, did ridecamp?
