It'll be time to "move on" when the problem is resolved - either get rid
of the regional awards for BC LD all together, or give everyone a chance to
participate for them.
I see nothing wrong with regional awards for BC LD, but it's not up to
me.
Good horsemanship is good horsemanship, whether you ride 25 miles, 50 miles
or just pick up your horse's hooves and pick out the rocks and put him back in
his stall/pen/pasture.
If it is ONLY about regional awards, I guess it'd be an easy fix.
All of this sure sounds similar to discussions in the past regarding the
fairness of NATIONAL awards, i.e., 1) My region is harder to ride in
because of the (fill in the blank)
2) I have to trailer further to find rides because there are not as many as in
the
(fill in the region)
3) Vets in my region aren't as easy to buffalo as vets in the (fill in the
region).
4) We never have more than X amount of riders, so the POINTS available are
less here than in the (fill in a region).
5) Weight divisions in my region are harder to place in because there are
so
many more lightweights, featherweights, middleweights than heavyweights.
and so forth.
I guess when elevated to the National Level, endurance just ain't
fair.
