Get behind her at the vet checks. See that she gets thru 1st. Easier than looking over your shoulder all day. By the time mine was 11, she could get thru a vet check faster than most adults. Still can. She started when she was 8. And one was EASY. Another alternative I used. I was always the one with the young horse, so I would send her out with other riders I knew that were kind enough to let her tag along. It is amazing how much they remember when there isn't anyone else there. Oh yeah, in 10 years of endurance I only have crew on 100's (both of them) and a close multi-day because I tag along with a good friend....whose Husband crews for her.
