 When you get those suggestions...please let me know.  I too have a 11yr.old and we have been riding together for 4 years now.  Before her, I was use to both a crew and not a crew, so maybe not quite the same problem.  But with her, kids tend to depend on the crew (in our case Daddy) a little more than usual.  So, for us not to have a crew, makes it double hard on me, (and you).  I then have 2 horses to care for, half way do things for her and then maybe me.  All you can do is try to teach her that it is her responsibility to care for her horse and herself.  But that the horse should come first,   I mean he is out there working and carrying her thru a ride.  It can be a wonderful experience to share with your daughter and it will bring you closer together.....unless you kill each other first.  :))
