I've been riding him since he was 2 mostly in Dressage, but some combined training also, and if I let him "get bored" he will find something to spook at. This is the only kind of spooking my horses tend to do as well (obviously there are the occational "real" spooks, but even those are only duck & spins at most, and most are the startle-in-place variety). When they're working and focused there's no hint of spook. But, when bored the spooking comes out as self-entertainment. One mare in particular is like that. I just laugh and keep going. Luckily I have "velcro butt" and I can only think of six times I've had unsceduled dismounts in my life and at least half were not from spooks (jump refusals or ponying bareback when the two horses had different plans from one another...). ~Nicole Zephyr Arabians http://www.zephyrarabians.com KattWmn Web Design http://www.kattwmn.com =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
