RE: [RC] Flagstaff Arab needs retirement - Susan & Jerry MilamSounds like he definetely needs a change of scenery. Guess you need to decide what kind of bond you two have to determibne if you want to go through his recovery with him or not. As long as he is at that barn he will be a problem. He can't "relax". He has been traumatized and the things which have happened are not his fault but he is not a suitable horse for me even as a trail horse at this point. I know that a lot of endurance people have too many horses, but if any wants a pasture pony as a companion he is great with gentle or non-aggressive mares and geldings. He is suffering from post-traumatic stress from the beating he took at the place I am boarding him and needs a loving retirement home. I am moving him to my trainer's home until I can find a place for him. He is not safe for me to ride so I cannot expect anyone to pay for him. So if I am lucky enough to find a retirement home for him, I will be thrilled. I am not thrilled about this situation at all, but I feel that is the best for him. -- Cheers, Fay "There is no snooze button on a cat who wants breakfast." =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
