Okay, I have been lurking mostly and decided to step in on this one.
Maryben's record is excellent and her Juniors are as well. She completely
knows what and how to guide young riders and they truly enjoy following her
lead.
There is nothing wrong with starting little ones with 50's if they want to
do it and the parents agree as well which they have for the most part.
Many many of our great riders out there were taught by her including
Heather Reynolds as most of you know.
I also will stand with those that chose to protect and stand up for
her. And it is silly to "read into" her comments and critique them.
she posted a very simple comment and a curious, politely stated question.
Nothing wrong with that at all.
Also on a personal level I'm having a difficult time with all this talk on
and off about LD, endurance etc.
I've done both. I like both. Isn't the bottom line we just
chose what we feel suits a certain horse, person, circumstance, or whatever and
just want to basically have fun???? Ride beautiful trails, enjoy
company, meet new friends, and challenge ourselves if we chose too?
I think everybody needs to lighten up a bit and just go ride you horse,
wind in your hair, big smile, hugs, carrots and the best care we can give our
horses and be done with all this back and forth stuff!!! It is getting way
to serious! Horses are to ride and have fun, and enjoy!
