[RC] US Rider - one caution - Kristi SchaafRead all the fine print. My truck broke down in the parking lot of a business. My cell phone wouldn't get a signal for some reason, so I called US Rider from the business, where they were just locking the door but kindly let me use the phone anyway. After sitting on hold with US Rider for several minutes, I decided to call a tow truck on my own so the store employee could go home. My truck was hauled by the tow company to their shop and parts were ordered for repair. I was at work when the truck was ready, so hubby went and picked it up and paid the bill. I submitted the tow portion of the bill ($60) to US Rider and was denied my claim because "I" specifically didn't pay the tow bill. It does say that is required somewhere in the fine print, I discovered, so I didn't appeal the denial. I was just relieved that I hadn't been pulling horses when the power steering fluid hose broke; it may not have been pretty. But a lesson learned - ALWAYS make sure that YOU, the US Rider client, are the paying party. For example, they advertise that it doesn't matter whose vehicle you're in - if you're a US Rider client, the vehicle you are riding in is covered. Well, if it's your friend's truck and she puts her name on the tow slip, you won't be covered. Just something I thought I'd add so someone else doesn't inadvertently throw away dollars you could have had reimbursed. Kristi Life's a journey, so enjoy the ride (and try not to fall off) __________________________________ Yahoo!
