[RC] Ground Flax - Ridecamp Guest

==========================================

I would recommend searching the archives, but this is what I
understand about flax. First for allergies for a horse (don't
know about a pony) you should be feeding one pound to get
the desired results for allergies. Three cups of unground flax
seed is equal to one pound. Next is that it is the volatile
fatty acids that have the allergy benefits. Because they are
so volatile it is best to grind and feed. I don't know if
keeping it for a week even in a closed container would provide
the same benefits but it is my recollection that it will not.
Again search the archives and look for Susan Garlinghouse's
discussion on it. You can also search the internet for information.
