Re: [RC] Midwest horse feeding and riding buddies - Kristi SchaafHi Alice - I'm in central Iowa, and can tell you that it's difficult to find straight grass hay around here. I insist on feeding straight grass and have been lucky to find a consistent source, but it seems like almost everyone feeds a lot of alfalfa. If you are left with no option but to give your horses access to alfalfa, can you at least give them a gradual transition into it? Since you're in Omaha, you're near the heart of Region 6 NATRC. If you have any interest in CTR's, you have quite a few within just a few hours' drive. Go to: www.natrc.org to find out more. You can also contact Chris Paus (or she'll maybe contact you) because MOTDRA (www.motdra.fws1.com) is based in Kansas, and they organize endurance and CTR's. San Diego to Omaha...wow, I hope your first winter out here doesn't send you into shock. ; - P Kristi iluvdez at yahoo dot com Life's a journey, so enjoy the ride (and try not to fall off) __________________________________ Yahoo!
