I have done P&Rs on several CTRs but never an endurance ride. When
I used to ride both endurance and CTR I always felt the endurance riders were
nicer but that was along time ago. But when I volunteered in
CTRs I ran into numerous rude riders. It was always the open
riders never the novice. I got so that when an open rider came in I
would just stand back and let the other crew members take care of them. One
incident I especially remember was an open rider who came in and was waiting her
10 minutes and she yelled at a couple of the P&R people who were
having a conversation in a normal voice "Would you be quiet my
horse is trying to rest!"
I am a vet assistant and have a lot experience with P&Rs but
anytime you would have a horse with a P&R that the rider didn't like they
would treat you like you don't know what you're doing. I no longer
volunteer on CTRs. If they can't appreciate the volunteers maybe they can do
without them.
