Spanish Mustangs are a North American breed, being genetically identical or very close to the horses the Spaniards repopulated the Americas with in the 1500s. They are the original mustangs, also the original indian ponies, cayuses, Chincoteague & Assateague ponies, Florida Crackers, Kigers and other breeds.
