RE: [RC] West Nile Virus and other vaccines - Kristen A Fisher

I feel exactly the opposite. I think most vaccines are much MORE effective than advertised - that their effects last much longer and that vaccinating for many things every year is detrimental to the immune system. The only way to check immunity is through titers which ran about $100 for distemper and parvo, I didn't titer for lepto or canine influenza as they are not fatal, & my dogs are not likely to contract them.

For WNV, the jury is still out conclusively on the vaccine, but it can be fatal and can be contracted relatively easily, so we vaccinate. Additionally, some insurance companies will not cover with major medical if you do not vaccinate for WNV.

Subject: [RC] West Nile Virus and other vaccines

Dear Ridecamp members,
I am writing in respone to equine vaccines. I personally believe that all vaccines do not have the efficacy that is advertised. I also am convinced that they tamper with the immune system to the detriment of the animal's health ( all animals...dogs, cats , humans, horses)
I don't think there will ever be any research done to support this. Because who would pay for it ?
