I broke two of my ribs clean through about
three years ago (on my new stallion, the day he arrived from Texas!). While the lesson learned was
quick, the healing came a little slower…
I rode (my mare) the following week, and
was snowboarding (very cautiously) by the third week. I considered myself
back-to-normal at about six weeks.
There's nothing better for the soul of a man than the outside of a
horse.

I fractured my ribs when my horse reared and caught the pommel in the
chest. This happened Sunday and the pain has decreased by 1/2. The bones
popping and grinding don't hurt but the surrounding nerves and tissues sure do.
What are your experiences, how long does it take to get back on. I have
at least 2 fractures, 5th and 6th ribs, hard to raise my left arm to support
anything.
