[RC] Clinic Topics - Ridecamp GuestPlease Reply to: ti tivers@xxxxxxx or ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ========================================== I'd like to ask this group for opinions about major topics for the speakers. If I only picked 4 topics to cover, what should they be?? What would you like to know more about now? What would you have liked to have learned when you first got started? Shoeing? Nutrition and feed analysis? Conditioning? Training? Saddle fit?> My suggestions: Nutritional support for the equine endurance athlete. Basic exercise concepts for the endurance horse. (Desireable pysiological changes and how to make them happen. Fitness levels vs competition levels. 5 year generalized, periodized conditioning gameplan. Avoiding conditioning/competition injuries. The Big Picture--all the variables that must be under control as you move through the conditioning process.) Record keeping, conditioning/training journal. Other topics: Shoeing, balancing, saddle fit, monitoring tools and how to use them, environmental factors (training/competing surfaces, climate/weather, stabling conditions, transport, handlers, basic horsemanship, etc.). ti =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
