I am not a vet--but  my first hunch was it sounded like a 
poisioning.....maybe something in the food, air ,etc.-- could there be a new 
fertilizer or something being used on feedstuffs over there? Pesticides? 
etc? I had a dog have similiar symptoms and vet thought she may have been 
poisioned. The dark urine sounds similiar to what happens when a horse ties 
up...muscle cell breakdown, blue gums --lack of oxygen---red cell damgage? 
Anemia type symptoms....
  Are other animals -- herbivores having anything like this? Or the 
carnivores????--

If it is a virus---what do they have in common--what could they all  injest 
or share that is similiar???
