[RC] ez boot modifications question - Dream WeaverMarta -- don't cut the heelstrap off completely unless you plan on foaming the boots on. It's better to cut the strap down so that it is narrower. I have Easyboots 101 Instructions, Part 1 and 2 links posted below:http://www.redwrench.com/ezboot/default.htm http://www.redwrench.com/ezboot/easyboot101part2.html Since your horse is barefoot, you may still need to pull the heelstrap up to keep the boots on. You might try not pulling the strap up so far and see if the boots will stay on that way. If not, then try using vetwrap or an old sock to add some protection in the heel area. You can find instructions on doing that on the above links. I also have a lot of instructions and info on the Epics, those links are near the top of my website at this link: http://members.tripod.com/ridephotos/ I'll be updating some of that info soon to show the new softer gaiter that so far (knocking on wood) has been working really well. You might try the Epics on your horse if you continue to have problems with the heelstrap. I've been riding with the heelstrap cut out of the Epics and it works really well. So well that I think they'll be making the boots that way :).
