FW: [RC] NAEC champion Karen Kroon - Mcgann, Barbara




And just a little more background...

In the 70's, Karen started riding endurance on a big Moyle horse.  Moyles are 
an Idaho breed, and they stand about 15'3-16'2", are big boned, heavy horses 
that are known for their cantankerousness.  (Is that a word?)  After competing 
sucessfully on those horses, I'm sure Karen thought endurance was EASY when she 
switched to Griffin!!!

Here is alittle info about Karen for those of you who don't know who she is. 
She has more than 10,000 endurance miles. Since 1985 she has completed 115 of 
119 rides. She has 71 wins and 56 BC's. During the 1985 and 1986 ride seasons 
she rode her great horse MI Griffin to 28 consecutive wins in a row and 19 
BC's. Rokket appears to be cut out of the same cloth and has won 12 in a row 
with 9 best conditions in the last two years. She's somewhat of a legend in the 
Mountain region and has been inducted into the Mountain Region Endurance riders 
Hall of Fame. Her stint in the Airforce took her out of the sport for awhile 
but as you can see she is back in full stride again and we are very proud that 
she rode for the Mountain Zone!
