RE: [RC] RC: Alfalfa Pellets - Pam BailieWe use a combination of beet pulp, dry cob and rice bran - We have different horses with different needs so that works for us plus vitamins etc.....Big plus is all parts are easily identifiable so you know if something is not right. The consistency was just not what it should have been. My stallion was getting sicker and sicker until I figured it out and switched feeds. I've also found huge chunks of sticky molasses and who knows what else in bags of their senior feed. They may have the best research in the industry, but look at the labels on thier feed and then labels on other brands of feed. Purina will never give you exact ingredients... it's "grain byproducts" forage products, etc. I'm now buying "Kent' brand feeds. They tell you the exact percentage of rice bran, of beet pulp, of alfalfa, etc in each bag of feed. With Purina's loose lableing, they can't be held to a certain amount of any one type of grain or forage. They can buy what's cheapest on the market. Their response to me when I wrote them a bout the moldy feed was less than helpful. I'm gone. chris */rides2far@xxxxxxxx/* wrote: > Oh I didn't know that. Does Purina have better quality assurance I worked for a major grocery chain (in advertising, not stocking shelves thank you) and our brand of dog food was Purina that didn't make it through their inspection process...like the puppy chow from the bottom of the silo where there were a few too many broken pieces. They're apparently pretty particular. Angie =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
