Re: [RC] [RC] RC: Alfalfa Pellets - Juli JakubJust a fun fact...Guiness in the old days use to have open vats...rats would fall in and be processed with the beer. When health codes came into play the vats were covered. People complained that the beer was tasting different and they didn't like it. So Guiness started adding animal fat to the recipe and people stopped complaining about the taste and loved it again! I love Guiness, but I can't drink it anymore...knowing it has animal product and the fact that one pint is 550 calories!! Kinda gross but neat though!

Juli Jakub

The Air of Heaven is that which blows between a horse's ears.

~ arabian proverb

From: Bette Lamore <woa@xxxxxxxxxxxx>
To: Dabney Finch <dabneyesq@xxxxxxxxxxx>
CC: Carol Suggs <limofunder@xxxxxxx>, ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
Subject: Re: [RC] RC: Alfalfa Pellets
Date: Mon, 17 Oct 2005 21:56:20 -0700
>I know they had a problem with a big stable down San Diego way--
>forget the name-- whose horses all colicked and many didn't make it
>due to ground up rats, I believe, in the hay cubes.
