[RC] North American Championship - done! - Steph Teeter
It's
always a toss-up between getting things 'right' and getting things 'out there,
fast'. Sorry about the goofs. I think we have it right now.
Gigabytes of data were flying between Elkton and Portland over the
weekend - both of us with access to high speed links, using cellphones, trying
to keep the event as 'live' as possible. Lots of fun really, zipping around
taking photos, back to the hotel to download, back out for more photos and
info - John grabbing the stuff and sorting, organizing, making videos,
getting it on the web page asap. The OC had a good system for processing vetgate
info, it made a big difference having stats available. A few glitches and
delays, but still pretty slick. (thanks to Steve and Dinah Rojek's timing system
sponsorship). Dinah did a surprise dismount coming out of VG3 - I've never
seen a horse spook so big, and so fast - and I have it on video! She eventually
got back on and rode the loop, but was hurting too much to continue
afterwards. Mighty tough rider.
So....
that's it for the 2005 North American Endurance Championship! We'll post more
photos on the website rotating banner as we have time to crop and process, but
now it's about looking back and swapping stories. A VERY well organized event,
gorgeous facility, beautiful country side - and great luck with a day of
sunshine.
I'm
staying with my parents in Virginia for a couple days, then meeting John in
Portland, driving back to Idaho, and then getting ready for the next big
event....
