Re: [RC] Cashel - Chris PausA good friend of mine got one of the cashel soft saddles and hated it. She said it was hot and was too thick under her legs. after that, she bought a "Littlejoe" bareback saddle and loves it. It's along the same lines as the Cashel, but made out of suede leather. I've got one too and I loff it! I can trail ride in it. It's very secure and doesn't slip around. My horses love it. It's great for quick tack ups.
Here's a link. The lady will custom make one for you and she has a money back guarantee. If you don't like it, she'll take it back. I don't think anyone has ever sent one back to her yet, though....
I'm a heavyweight rider and this does not slip and roll around with me on the horse, unlike the other more traditional treeless saddles I've tried.
The only thing I'd say is to use peacock or other safety kind of stirrup as the leathers go through a d-ring and wouldn't slip off in an emergency. And she suggests this too.
Here's a link to a photo of my mare in her Littlejoe. I've used it on 4 different horses and have liked it on all! http://www.imagestation.com/album/pictures.html?id=4291984835&idx=67

P.S. I get nothing for this testimonial..... I just think it's a really good product and don't mind saying so!
