One being Gayle Ecker of Guelph Univ, I think alot of people would know her, she did the studies on electolites. I was told that the Shiek had 30 horses in training, and that they Galloped 20 miles everyday in their training program, and at the end of that period, he picked the horse he thought would do the best. (Do we do that with our horses?) The other thing I thought was interesting, was how hard they raced in, and that he galloped through the gate, continued, not trot, canter, right to his pitcrew where they pulled his saddle and he walked right to the vets and pulsed down immediately. Something like 96 second. (Awesome I think) And the comment being, that he looked like he never did the ride, he looked that good. I hope that when our riders and pitcrew, vets and helpers return that they will share what they have learned.....
