They have caused us a tremendous amount of trouble over the last 25 years, as well as being expensive to heat. The horses and sheep all prefer to drink out of the Mirafont energy free waterers both summer and winter. We do have a freezing problem in the bitter weather (Less than 10ºF) and are in the process of adding thermostatic heaters. They have a website and I think they even send you a DVD you can watch. They are sturdy, trouble free, easily cleaned in seconds and heated if you like.
