The horse Zaafaran that was just pulled was owned by my husband Tom and I until very recent. We have trained Jayel Victor (his name until he arrive in the UAE and was renamed Zaafaran) for the last 4 yrs. In 2004 he finished the Biltmore 4th and came in 1st at the Maine 100 and then finished 3rd in Wisconsin at the Colorama Ride this past Sept. Sh Mohammed purchased him after that along with two other of our horses, named Jabbar and Tu Muchh. I was very proud of him and of course was sad to see him get pulled but felt the Princess rode him nicely. The horse Jassas was also owned by us and sold to Sh Mohammed 4yrs ago. He was known in the US as Jayel Delgado. Jassas and Zaafaran have the same sire and were bred by Janice and Dwight Hooten. They are both beautiful animals and seriously competitive horses. Jassas is being ridden by Sh Mohammed's youngest son.
