Re: [RC] hoof boot comparisons/update - Mike & Kathy KellyHi Jonni,Your question wasn't addressed to me, but I am someone who has had good luck using Old Macs. I kept my horse barefoot for nearly 4 yrs and used the OMs for about 3 yrs. During that time I used them for 3 50's (Bryce, DVE and LOS) and a few CTRs, one of which had a lot of deep sand (they actually helped keep my horse on top of the sand). I've ridden them lots in sand and rocks, done river crossings with no problem. However, I wasn't happy with how they worked in mud, but I don't know of any boot that has as good of traction as a hoof (shod or not) in mud. I never had a rubbing problem with them. I always wrapped with something (an old sock for training rides, vet wrap otherwise). Kathy Kelly Parks AZ I am just curious how many actual rides (not training rides) you have done, =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
