[RC] hoof boot comparisons/update - Ridecamp Guest

==========================================

All my horses went barefoot 2 years ago and to get me through the transition I
used Old Macs. They are far ahead of any other boot as long as they are sized
correctly. They have much more shock absorption than any of the other boots due
to the sole type. They shape to the hoof better so they can fit any hoof shape
more securely , especially a couple of mine who have odd shaped hooves. They
are so easy to put on and take off which is an advantage due to the Velcro. For
endurance I would suggest using pastern wraps for any type of boot. We tried
the Boas but the dial interferes with the natural movement of the pastern as
it comes forward over the hoof and puts tremendous pressure onto the tendon
sheath and coronet at the front of the hoof so I would not recommend using them
for long periods. All in all it comes down to personal choice and for me and my
riding buddies the Old Macs have constantly out performed all the others
