RE: [RC] Headaches - Mcgann, BarbaraIf heat works for you...you could buy those heat therapy stick-on pads. Take them out of the package, pull the covering off and then wrap around your neck (they stick on). They really do provide a nice soothing warmth. One caveat, though, is to not put them under clothes or coats. I was riding with broken ribs one time and had stuck one of them across my back then got dressed and on the horse. They felt great, until we got about a mile out of camp and my body started sweating. The pad just kept getting hotter and hotter and of course the coat was holding it in. It was too cold to take the coat off, but internally I was on fire. I finally ripped it off! But after the ride, or on your neck and not covered up, they work better than the heated towel, as they stay warm for hours. It is very comforting to know that I am not the only one who suffers and there was tons of good advice and things I am going to try. One thing that sometimes works for me is heat on my neck. I wet down a towel and microwave it on high for about 30 seconds and then put it on my neck until it cools off. Then I repeat. Need a microwave to do it at an event though.
