Re: [RC] [RC] Older Horses - newly gelded - Ridecamp GuestPlease Reply to: Lauretta tikitiki69@xxxxxxxxxxx or ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ========================================== As someone who rides a stallion, I don't think that you can judge how the horse will act in a group based upon when he was gelded. I ride in mixed groups all of the time, and a lot of folks don't realize Shaba is a stallion unless I tell them (which I usually make a point of doing, just as a courtesy). On the other hand, I have seen geldings and mares that had major attitude problems. I think it has to do more with 1. the horse's personality to begin with and 2. how he has been trained to interact w/ other horses, rather than if he is gelded early, gelded late, or not gelded at all........ride your horse in a group, and then make a decision............ =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
