Re: [RC] Older Horses - newly gelded - heidiWe are looking at a 19 year old gelding for our daughter. The lady wants him to have a more active home because they don't have time for him anymore. With his show & pedigree background he is a very nice horse. Our only drawback is that he has been used as a stud and was just gelded last year. What are everyone's thoughts on this? I'm not worried about my daughter being able to handle him - she handles our studs all the time, but I'm still skeptical about his being "behaved" while riding with a group of horses. I'd say that the odds are overwhelmingly in favor of him being just fine--I'd just suggest taking him on his individual merit, and judging him accordingly.
