So why don't lighter riders put on weights when
they train and thus really beat us heavyweights?

Note: No need to get into the whole live vs dead
weight thing.
Also: The fairness of the current time and weight
penalties could be tested and then adjusted so that they were of optimized
fairness and over the long run the distribution of BC awards were uniform over
the first 10 riders and the weights of the riders.
PPS. This post is not a call for action, or
even meant to say that the present system is either fair or not
fair.
