RE: [RC] Pull Codes - Adam Falkheidi@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx wrote: So someone comes into camp for lunch, knows the horse is lame and just packs up and leaves. The vet can't give a pull because s(he) didn't see the horse and the only code an RM can give is DQ. THAT's how a rider can abuse the codes. A lame horse gets DQ. But how often does this actually happen? I've maybe seen it once or twice in the past couple of decades. I have to chime in here, I have only been attending rides for the last 3 years and I think that out of the almost 20 rides that I have been at as a rider or crew I have seen at least 7 people do just that, leave with out getting a final vet check. Most of the time they let management know they are leaving, but they do it at a time when the vets and timers are the most busy. I do not think it has been any of the people who are long term endurance riders because I do not see them at many rides. It does happen more often than we would like.
