FW: [RC] white line - Dolores ArsteKathy, If you can send photos of the foot in question? to Kim, shed like to see head on shot, lateral and sole shots. WLD is actually quite rare and in most cases I find it comes from either laminitis or flaring (flaring causes tearing of the laminae). You can see an extreme example of a horse I've been working on by going to www.clickandtrim.com/murray.htm. This horse was diagnosed with WLD about 2 years ago and shoes were the recommended cure. By the time I saw the horse he had 20 degrees of rotation in his RF and 2 degrees in his LF. I pulled the shoes and started bringing his toes way back. As of today, the RF is almost completely healed with no more seperation of Coffin Bone and Hoofwall. The vet recommended soaking with some kind of antifungal, I never did, he is fine. If you feel an overwhelming need to soak, then try 2 ounces of Lysol mixed with a gallon of water (warm water). Do this for 30 minutes 3 times a week, much less caustic than regular bleach. The Lysol is regular old cleaning Lysol from the grocery store. You can also email me privately to discuss in further detail, my email is kim@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Good Luck Kim Cassidy www.cilckandtrim.com Dolores www.zenhorsemanship.com -- No virus found in this outgoing message.
