it is indeed a fine medal and you should be proud! But continental team medals
can only be awarded to the continental teams. There are Open medals, and
Individual medals, but the teams competition is only for the continent. e.g.
Belgium could not take a team medal at a Pan American championship. But they
could take open and individual medals.
