Re: [RC] Normal values for an equine blood test - Mary Ann Spencer
Merck, who also puts out a human merck manual, has
one for veterinarians. It has most diseases, etc You can probably get one
thru Amazon.com Mine has labs for most domestic livestock. Mine
is 1998 and it is updated about every 8 yrs so there should be a new one
out. Mine is the 8th edition 1998. Some livestock supply places may
also have it. Most have online ordering. Try using www.dogpile.com for your seach
engine. It does well for me. mas
Subject: [RC] Normal values for an equine
blood test
Does anyone know where to find the normal ranges for an equine
blood test. We have to do any blood work here in human labs and
while they can give us figures for the blood tests, there is no
indication of what they mean. I've been checking on line for some
normal ranges and have found a few but for example can't find the
normal range for red blood cell count. As well some of the
measurements for the equine ranges are not the same as those given
for humans....don't quite know what to make of that.
And much
as I'd like to ask my vet, he's the one who doesn't
know.
