Re: [RC] Killer Bees - rides2farI don't know it what she was referring to were the "killer bees" that have migrated from South America or if they were ground wasp. There are lots of ground wasp in Tennessee. Just ask someone that has done the Big South Fork. A few years back I had a friend, Dawn Saunders, come over from Scotland to do a 50 at BSF. She was shocked when I mentioned bees. Seems they have NONE in Scotland and she was terrfied of the idea of yellow jackets. When we left for the ride we had to stop at my school to pick up Bonnie who was trying to get in a 1/2 day. Our school's mascot is the Yellow Jackets. She freaked when she saw the big painting on the wall. I kept assuring her it was no big deal. Then we got to BSF and went out for a training ride. There was a sign on the side of the trail stapled to a tree that simply read: BEES RUN! Oh boy. Almost didn't get her out there the next morning. However, during the race itself she really enjoyed the entertainment of seeing me try to get Kaboot to "Un-run" after that bolt within the first 5 miles of the race.
