I take 50 mg every night for my allergies as
prescribed by my allergist. So I would tend to think that's a low dose too.
Maybe it is more potent in horses?
The dosage for a
horse is 25mg (one tablet or caplet). My vet prescribed this and it
was confirmed for me by Heidi Smith at ROTR. My mare eats hers in her
beet pulp.
It works real well
when she is being driven crazy by gnat/midge hatches.
You must discontinue
feeding 3-4 days before a ride.
Apple cider vinegar
and garlic also help
a lot with keeping the gnats/midges
away.
She also gets fresh
ground flax seed which is a great antioxidant.
