Re: [RC] sweet itch - jenBeth, my horse has developed sweet itch and it has progressivley gotten worse each year for the last three years. This year half his mane and the top of his tail were rubbed off nad he was even rubbing his belly bloody. Poor baby. I did a bunch of internet research and consulted with my vet and we decided that flax seed would benefit him the most. I elected to go with flaxseed oil because of the stability factor and I used about an ounce of it as a top dress. It took about a month but now he is completely over it. Hair is almost all grown back and he appears to not be rubbing anymore. Next year I plan on starting in the spring before the rubbing gets started. Hope this helps.Jen M. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ridecamp Guest" <guest-owner@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, September 16, 2005 4:40 AM Subject: [RC] sweet itch Please Reply to: beth caglehead10@xxxxxxxxx or ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ========================================== =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
