i didn't even think of this. thanks! my  mare ties well to the trailer so that wouldn't be an issue. this sounds simpler than setting up a tent.

how short do you tie your horse? my mare doesn't panick when she steps on a leadline but i wouldn't want to take a chance with her being 'stuck' all night while i was sleeping...
