Re: [RC] Ride Fee Hike - Jim & Drin BeckerHeidi wrote "Why is this a big deal for ride managers? One figures one's entry fee based upon what one's costs are projected to be. It is the riders who pay it." Well this sounds like it should work Heidi but take me and my ride for example , I did up my ride flyers working in the rider fees , dinners, etc so everything was wrote into the entry fees and I was covered as you suggest right ? Wrong , two weeks before my ride Forest Service hits me with a $400.00 bill for use of the campsite and vendor concessions which one year previously they had told me I would not have to pay as the local chapter of the BackCountryHorseman were receiving all profits from the concessions . I contested this but they then told me the FS ranger who told me I did not have to pay had no right to do so ????? So I was out an extra $400.00 which is probably why I will not put on another ride next year . I am sure I am not the only ride manager who was hit with last minute money problems that could not be written into the entry fees .
