this is a real concern for me! One day when i was riding Star, he was just being AWFUL. Hopping here and there, spooking over everything. It was exhausting to ride him.

 

when we got home and I untacked him, he had a terrible pinched up bit of skin under the saddle. My saddle blanket had done exactly that.. a bit of skin got into a crease and it was terribly uncomfortable. I felt like the worst horse mom ever when I figured it out. He was trying to tell my in his own horsey way, "it hurts, get off me and fix it!"
