[RC] reconsidiering the cost of rides - Tracey SmithNot to mention the value of seeing a vet numerous times in a ride and who has not had the chance at a ride to ask vets for some advice over and above the regular VC? I have found if you catch them when they are not busy (before or after the ride checks) they are more than willing to chat....those chats are worth something you know. This same reasoning was brought up on another list when we were talking about the cost of NATRC CTR's...and how for your ride fee you also basically get numerous vet consultations and a weekend of horsemanship lessons (wanted or not...ha ha ha). Add that to the value of relaxing with friends and enjoying the great outdoors....PRICELESS. Tracey p.s. please remind me I said the above the next time I am whining about fuel prices! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------- [RC] ok, reconsidering the cost of rides - Carolyn Burgess Anyone who has shown or rodeod, figure out the cost per second or mile to ride. For us, it works out to be anwhere from $1 to $4/mile to ride, and they will feed you for that price. Find out how much a dressage class or hunter, or trail class at a show costs per mile, and it won't include the meal, or the great company that you'll get at an endurance ride.
