[RC] not suggesting an Aussie saddle - Ridecamp GuestPlease Reply to: Ray O'Donohue rno2m@xxxxxxxxxxxx or ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ========================================== As such.Suggesting that people skilled or unskilled have much to gain by looking at every saddle,as flawed, and in need of tuning. If,Carolyn, your seat is extremely secure, that does not mean that a set of (properly spaced )poleys would not save your neck in some situation. Is it Phillip Dutton(?) the Gold medal eventer who has the little bucking rolls on his "english" saddle? There is some situation where ANY rider will crash. But the little zone between "uh-oh" and "crash" can be broadened considerably by such things as simply putting the rider as close to the horse as possible. My friends on Tucker Troopers can reduce their leg spread by SEVEN inches, remove stirrup leather "snag" altogether, and drop their seat into the horse by about 3/4-1" with one evening's simple work on the saddle. How much dressage training(which they are never going to take anyway)would it take to get that kind of improvement in security? =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
