For the second
year, the Patriot Ride will be held just north of Greenville, CA. The
basecamp is located at Copper Creek Camp (www.coppercreek.com),
a facility that allows us to park in their open meadow, use their corrals and,
best of all, their showers!
This is a beautiful and well organized ride
with plenty of water on the trail for the horses and even a bit of people
food at the vet checks.
The trail has changed somewhat from last
year. The first loop for the 50s will still take them out past Mountain
Meadow Reservoir and then up on the ridge by Deer Hart Lake to some
spectacular views. There was some repeat trail last year that has
been eliminated. The repeat this year will only be the in/out from
camp.
The second loop for the 50s and the only loop for the 25s is
substantially the same. It is along old forest roads on good footing
with some twisty/turny stuff through the forest.
Meals will be
provided on both Friday and Saturday and there will be a silent auction
starting on Friday.
