[RC] re: expensive brake job - Ridecamp GuestPlease Reply to: Teresa Van Hove tvanhove@xxxxxxxxxxxx or ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ========================================== Rebecca, Brakes (rear) on the 93 250 dodge were expensive to replace --$1000 was dealer, but I talked to local garage mechanic and that was not totally out of line -- cuz they had to pull the axle to get to the brakes. That seemed/still seems totally crazy, but there ya go; I'd like to know what the various $$ quirks for being extra cost to maintain are for the different trucks out there. I have a camper and largish, heavy, bp and may upgrade to a LQ trailer so I feel I need a 3/4 ton and I like the generally better mpg of a diesel --I sure wish manufactures would work on MPG instead of power and torque, I'm sure they all have great plenty of power compared to what the brakes can handle, but I guess they still sell a lot of these trucks based on being able to boast on the power, instead of having plenty of power for practical applications and being economical to drive.
