[RC] lost horse in La Port CA - Ridecamp GuestPlease Reply to: Dovie dovie.pickering@xxxxxxxxxxx or ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ========================================== I wanted to let you know we lost our horse in the wilderness on August 7th. We were camping in La Port in the horse camp grounds, and had trouble with meat bees. Our mare ran off and the last time we saw her the saddle had slipped under her belly. We tracked her for 8.5 miles only to loose her tracks in a meadow between La Port and Onion Valley. Someone mentioned I should bring this to your attention because of the possibility that some of LBHA members ride up that way. There has been an extensive search, and we are heading back up this weekend with our mare's 15 month old filly in hopes that when we separate the filly and our gelding in strategic areas they will call to each other and mama will hear. We are grabbing at straws at this point. She is a 12 year old Arab chestnut mare with a bold white blaze and one small sock up to her front left fetlock. As you can imagine, we are devastated, and would appreciate any passing along of this info.
